Genetic Counselling

We provide information and support to families who have known genetic disorders or are at risk of certain genetic conditions. If you have specific concerns about something that runs in your family, or you want to discuss prenatal screening, we offer the most up-to-date testing and counselling.
For genetic tests we take a small sample of blood or tissue which we’ll send off to a laboratory. The test will check the DNA for any mutations (changes or abnormalities) that might indicate you are at risk of developing a certain genetic condition.
We’ll help you to interpret your results, look at any risks, and offer you advice about any concerns you might have. Our genetic counsellor will give you clear and accurate information so you can decide on the next steps you’d like to take for you and your family.
